I Think I'm officially gonna start blogging about my holiday in Dubai =)
I think my whole hols is gonna come out in 3 parts. Dubai. London. Paris =)
I'm finally starting this though I came back a week ago hehe cause 1. I'm naturally a lazy bum =) 2. I'm currently buzy watching gossip girl woohoo. haha
So anyway. Dubai was pretty awesome. Something I certainly did not expect. I mean I knew Dubai was freakin modern and luxurious but seeing the actual deal really changes your life. Literally.Oh and btw, if you guys really dont know Dubai, it's one of the up and coming cities of the world people =)
k. Things you need to know bout Dubai first 1. There are no poor local people there. I'm so not kidding. The 'poor' people are the foreigners they hire. 2. Everything in Dubai is either the biggest or the best or the -est in the world. it's freakin overwhelming =/ 3. They are very big on architecture. VERY. 4. Not everyone covers their face there. In face it's fairly modern. Lots of Caucasians go there for a holiday. And seriously, why come to Malaysia when you can go to Dubai?
Dubai is a definite must-see in everyone's lifetime. You gotta see it to believe it. Money is freakin not a problem for them. damn rite.
So yeah 20th Nov, Thurs nite, at bout 10pm, we went to KLIA in a 10 seater. Yes people a 10 seater as the amount of luggage we all brought were countless and each of them massive. Our luggage basically amounted to about 112 kg. =/ Oh and if you didnt already know, I went with my family ( dad, mum, 2 bros) and my cousin sis/god sis =) Our flight was only at 2am but we were all too freakin excited to sleep. =))))
On the plane. My already small eyes look even smaller ahahahaha.
SO yeah we arrived at Dubai at 5am local time and I was freakin tired. haha Dun blame me cos the entertainment system or they call in ICE in Emirates ( stands for Info, Communication and Entertainment) was freakin awesome. 600 channels of entertainment and u wan me to sleep? haha Watched Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging and some old films =))
Aniwae yeah cos my daddy has wotk at Dubai ( partly the reason why we're here for a holiday) so he had some of his collagues come fetch us and so we went to the company my dad's workin in's service apartment to wash up and rest till we can get breakfast. Anyway, I really did not expect much but well well as said above no poor people so I was proved so freakin wrong.
This is the staff apartment. They're moving soon bt this was the smallest place they could find -_- oh my goodness
So after resting and washing up, we went for breakfast at 9 =) here. Supermarket and cafeteria. The food was insanely good tho. =) Arab food and insanely good western burger, sandwiches and chips. * lickinglips*
. Sad and hungry. Dubai people got this weird thingy where they make all your food and serve it to u in one shot rather than dish by dish, so imagine how long we had to wait. haha And the food came... Ee Eu... Cousin sis ( Shin Guun)... Ee Rui... who looks disturbingly like that potato thingy haha The colourful and VERY sweet drinks we ordered. Me and SG shared a Nokia (what a name haha banan and mango) Ee Eu had Internet and Ee Rui had some Wazurka milkshake or smthin liddat haha. =)
In the car/van Look at that. currently world's tallest builiding. dubai's builiding another one that's gonna surpass this. look at this builiding. ridiculous. it makes the other very tall buildings look like houses =/
Those small buildings are like the ones above. So imagine how tall that tallest thing is. Dad says bout 800 m. these crazy people. -_-
So to the Ibn Butatta mall we go. And it's pretty cool. This Ibn dude is like the Cheng Ho of the Islams. In the mall they have like bout 7? courts which each represent a country. SO u've got the India court, China court, Tunisia court, and what not etc. And here I was thinking that they sell stuff from the native country. But no. it's all designer stuff but the ARCHITECTURE is based on the country. unbelievable.haha

No idea what court. but it's so pretty =) heehe
And more and more examples that i'm lazy to show u guys hee And animals... Giant moose... my bros look so suaku... like they haven seen one... ooh irony!!!. In Dubai but i want a picture with a kangaroo. =)
With the huge elephant in the I think India court. too bad mr. wax on elephant is cut off. IF u think having a huge elephant in a mall is mind boggling. try this.. What u cant really see is this GINORMOUS Chinese ship in the Chinese court behind this fountain and a small little Junk( small boat) beside it. Goodness.
And how could I not take a pic with my darling who's in front of the humungous adidas store =) " When we score, I just want to jump into the stand and start celebrating with the fans" Spoken like a true hero =)))))
Ooh and we played with the mirrors there haha

So after this Ibn mall, we proceeded to another mall ( The uncle who was fetching us around had this pretty awesome Chinese self-burned CD. thank god haha. but he must hav had hearing problems cos his volume is just turned up. way UP haha). I cant remember what mall this was but we went to Ski Dubai ( world's largest indoor skiing arena). And my goodness huge indeed it is. o-o ( Did not go in tho. would have loved to but you and I know I cant ski =)
Imagine how high/big this freaking ski place is, my friends. You actually have to sit that thingy u see above to go to the peak to ski down. It's like the freaking Swiss alps here. ark.
In the same shopping mall that's home to Ski Dubai. =)
So then we checked in at our hotel for the first night =) I dare you to say the name of the hotel haha. ( dont actually know how to pronounce the words b4 rotana haha) =)
The Oh-So-AMAZING view from my room with SG and bros =) it almost looks symmetrical ( not in this picture haha)
The TV with its "remote control" or so it calls itself. If I'm not wrong, the hotel is upgrading its service so that each room will have internet and you can access it on yor TV with the "remote control" to type on. Enough said. ( my thumb looks interesting. hmm)
SG thinks she's a kid. =)
And my bro thinks he's in High School Musical...
The hotel was awesome. With good reason haha.
A 'clock tower" I saw when going to dinner. I dont see how it's a tower but it's awesomely grand hehe =)
OK. Day 2 in Dubai. =) Had a very filling and out of the world buffet in the hotel first =). Then we went to the famous 7*star hotel of Dubai ( cant remember the name hee) Did not go in cos u gotta pay to enter the damn thing.
Ahh there! the name =) someone do tell me how to pronounce that pls =)

We then proceeded to the Dubai mall. (yes my 3rd mall in Dubai. And they're all freakin impressive.=) it's like they're trying to top each other haha)
You can find this in the Dubai Mall. And it's so freakin huge. I cant show u thru pics but the damn aquarium itself is so freakin huge I think it's has 1000s of small fishes and small sting rays. And like many many huge fishes and stingrays. People the freakin coral reefs and rocks are all real. It's practically a sea in itself. =)
haha looks as if i photoshoped the pic =) frankly, dont even know why, i was quite overwhelmed when i was at the aquarium and I felt very very insignificant haha
Then in the very same mall, there was the Gold Zouk ( world's largest indoor one). I saw the world's largest outdoor one too the night before haha
We then checked in at our hotel for the second night. It was nearer to the airport hence the change =)
In the afternoon at bout 3, we were picked up by a Land Cruiser to begin our Desert Safari evening. I really did not know what we were doing as my dad booked it. But I was honestly expecting to see wild animals in the desert haha. but what I got was way more fun than I expected =)
So we sat in the four-wheeled drive as the Pakistan happily blasted very hyper and loud Pakistan music =) and drove us to the desert. We stopped at a shop for the toilets b4 going in the desert, and so did many many other identical vehicles. As we were exiting the toilet, me n SG got ambushed by the shop owners and they put on that belly dancing thingy on us and the dude was asking me to jiggle my bum like what he was doing haha. yeah right mister.
So yeah, after letting out some air, from the tires haha, mr. pakistan skilfully drove us into the ladn of sand and it was unexpectedly exciting haha. We had to put our seatbelts on as the ride was a lil like a natural roller coaster and our mr. pakistan was really pro at driving on the miles and miles of sand.
We saw our dear humpy friends =)

You know, you always hear bout deserts and all but you dont actually realise how breathtakingly beautiful sand can be( didn see any cactus tho =/)
totally understood why they brought us here in the evening =)

As it became darker and darker, mr pakistan brought us to this meeting point, like a campsite where all the other land cruisers start to gather and we got to experience Arab as it is and do all the Arab stuff before having dinner and watching the show =) Camel riding scared the shite out of me. Dont be fooled by my smiley face in the pic. It's really high up there and I was just fighting to stay on the camel as too many a time was I almost thrown off the darn animal haha =). Oh and it makes this really weird noise. hehe

Sheesha. An Arab smoking thingy which has a really nice smell but seems like it worse than yor typical cigarette. yuck.

And my handsome bro as an Arab syeikh hehe =) he does look like one no? They had these costumes that you could wear for remembrance but haha yours truly here didnt try the girls one where they cover everything haha.
So at bout 7.30, the BBQ started and I think this was probably my first time eating proper Lebanese food and it wasnt too bad. =) the odd veggie mashes and bbq-ed meat =) ooh yum=) And as we were eating, there were performances !!!
Belly dancing of course =) All the old men there were so freakin happy haha =) she came out twice that night =)
And the spinning guy =) my favourite one =) he came out and started spinning in circles ( didnt understand wth he was doing at first. but 10, 20 minutes later he was still spinning and he became glow in the dark haha. =) too cool. And to emphasise how good he is, they got audience members to come out and spin haha, that was funny =)
So yeah after that, we went back to the hotel and next morning at 7am, we went to the airport. It was actually a terminal specially for Emirate Airlines and no suprises, it was HUGE =) And they had these glittery poles so that it appeared even bigger. oh damn. and haha when u go into their lift, you get to see colourful water fountains =)
The next thing I knew, I was off to London. =)
And there is my Dubai holiday post =)
and it's so freakishly long. The London post should be interesting, seeing that I was there for 5 days, let's have a bet on how long that would be haha =)
oh and haha I actually started this post on Monday. It's a Friday today heeheee.
But sod it, at least I'm done! yes!
P.S went with huiyee to watch Wildchild that day It was good enough to pass time. horribly bimbotic (I like! haha). corny ( eww). haha but overall alright. if not for the fact that it's the hols now, I probably wouldnt watch it =)
Oh and we just wanted to ogle Alex Pettyfer... *swooning* haha. Me n hy actually went to watch Storm Rider just because of him haha. that movie was as much as I dont wanna admit, lame . heehee
